The Imperial Dovetail Rule 8/14" is a two-piece ruler and square. The two pieces can be used individually as 8" rules and magnetically link together to allow for easy transportation in a pencil case. When the two pieces are combined a total length of 14" can be created. The two pieces can be combined either way around to allow for the zero point to be to the left or right. The back of the long edge of the rule has a bevel to minimise ink smudging. The two sections can also be combined at 90 degrees to act as a reference square with a starting corner of zero for both edges.
